Objectives:
As a publicly traded NASDAQ company, remote control supplier UEI wanted to elevate awareness of the company and its offerings through broader media relations coverage.
Solution:
Watermark Group developed a comprehensive media relations strategy to position UEI as an industry leader, a technology leader and a good investment opportunity. We then prescribed a number of tactics to achieve the agreed-upon objectives – both in trade and mainstream press. Through the campaign, we helped reposition UEI as a wireless technology developer with considerable, fundamental intellectual property.
Results:
Ten months after we began working with the company, UEI’s stock price had risen some 500%. The company’s visibility in the trade media increased perceptibly; Watermark Group secured key coverage, including a coveted "woodcut" illustration of the Client’s new president and COO in The
Wall Street Journal. UEI’s presence in the investment community was enhanced, as well.
Added Value:
Watermark Group recommended several non-media public relations
projects to supplement the Client’s media outreach. We also
developed an award-winning product description that earned UEI
a prestigious Innovations 2000 Award from the Consumer Electronics
Shows.
